Watchers

Finally

The Yashica comes through, more or less.

After paying what I consider to be far too much money to have four rolls of black and white film developed, I'm a little annoyed with the results. The photos themselves look great - a lot of them are quite grainy, but I was shooting ISO400 and often doing it in very dim light with long exposure, so that's not surprising. I kind of like the look, anyway.

No, what irks me is that I payed to get what I thought would be a FotoCD but is actually just a cheap burned copy of all my pictures. At 1544x1024 ... which I'm pretty sure is far, far less than I should be able to get out of a film negative.

I guess I can always have the really good shots scanned again from the negatives.

My sister, who is something of a house freak, has decided that the house she just bought will feature nothing but photographs as decoration (I assume she means no paintings or prints of paintings, I'm not sure). So she printed four of my better photos for hanging on her walls.

I'm pretty flattered, frankly. Even if she is family.

I just got back from Barcelona and none of the pictures I took there turned out really nicely so I'm kind of bummed about that. There was one picture of a little spot in a garden that was absolutely covered in pollen. It was so thick it looked like it had snowed (leave it to the Canadian to think of snow immediately). But in the picture, it just looks over-exposed. Ah well.

Had a good time, though.
